4. Description: Event services. VisitBritain invites prospective specialist buyer recruitment organisation(s) to submit tenders in accordance with brief supplied.•Business Events is a new remit for VisitBritain which has been established since April 2016.
•The new team incorporates the established VisitEngland role within the sector which has a specific responsibility for promoting regional England (i.e. England beyond London).
•Government has asked VB to “. undertake Britain-wide promotion through the GREAT campaign, with VisitEngland to provide support and develop capacity for English cities to bid for events”
•The project takes a phased approach. Focus in Year One is to establish VisitBritain back in the sector by gathering insights, developing a presence in the US and Europe, and establishing a first phase marketing and event support programme.
•VisitBritain’s strategy is a twin track approach: building overall demand for Britain as a business events destination while targeting specific events that are in the UK’s strategic interests to host.
•This work is underpinned with a focus on insights, analysis and by building a strong relationship with UK industry and strategic partners.
•This work, under the overall campaign title of Events are GREAT is part of the UK Government’s GREAT Britain campaign, which showcases the best of what the UK has to offer by inspiring the world and encouraging people to visit, do business, invest and study in the UK
